What are we made up of? Stardust or mere Thoughts

Scientists and philosophers have wondered about the origin, existence and fate of universe for more than 10,000 years now. Evolving through a phase where observations of natural phenomena were inferred as an act of 'God', science has been taking steps towards understanding and simulating nature. However, if we raise a question on the nature of reality, today, there are more questions than answers.

But what are these answers? Are they mathematically formulated deductions? Are they a set of probable outcomes based on one's choice of initial conditions? Are they a result of fluctuating perspectives? or Are they a projection of our thoughts based on what we have seen, studied and learnt? Such questions leave me with a crippled feeling of knowing so little about this deep and mysterious space that we find ourselves in.

This makes me ponder, what and who are we. Are we the species that have the highest intellect, made up of stardust, playing a significant role in this universe, existing to unravel its mysteries, or are we beings that observe the cosmos as a mere projection of our thoughts, consciousness and inner world, in an endless pursuit of figuring ourselves out, taking the path of scientifically formulating this projected universe.
